Absolutely not! We pride ourselves on creating the best experience out there for first time skydivers! That said, we love to take people up who have jumped before and are looking to experience the thrill of skydiving again, as well! For those who have jumped before and are interested in learning to jump on their own, head to our Learn to Skydive page!
Your skydive itself will take around 30 minutes total! This includes a 20-25 minute plane ride up to altitude 9,000’+ above the ground, around 30 seconds of freefall, and around a 5 minute flight back to earth once under the parachute! We will spend 5-10 minutes on the ground walking you through the experience and briefing you on all you will need to know to successfully and safely complete your skydive!
We kindly ask you to arrive to our facility 15 minutes before the scheduled time of your jump. This gives us enough time to walk you through your waiver and brief you on all you need to know to successfully and safely complete your skydive!
Be sure to bring your ID, payment for your jump (if you haven’t paid in full online), and cash if you decide to tip your instructor or pilot. Otherwise, bring anything you may want if you were to be at our facility for a few hours (in the case of a weather delay). For you that could be snacks, water, sunglasses, etc.
We recommend comfortable clothing, full-length pants, closed-toe shoes, and hair ties for those with longer hair. If you are wearing any kind of jewelry or are carrying items in your pockets, we will ask you to remove them and leave them at the dropzone before you get on the plane. We would hate for you to lose any personal items!
Absolutely! We have a very spectator-friendly landing zone just a few hundred yards from our hanger. Invite as many people to come as you like and we’ll be sure they’re kept entertained while you’re up in the sky! Don’t tell them but with your help, we may even convince them to jump themselves!
Absolutely! Tandem skydiving in Colorado is always better when you’re with friends! Our planes can fit two tandem skydivers at a time, so if you’re coming with a group, you’ll be heading up in pairs. While you might not all be in the air at the exact same time, you’ll still get to share the experience and cheer each other on every step of the way!
Unfortunately for the sake of your safety and the safety of our instructors, we don’t allow tandem skydive passengers to bring their own cameras. We want to ensure the safest possible skydiving experience, so to eliminate snag hazards, additional distractions, and for you to fully immerse yourself in the skydiving experience, we ask that you leave the media capturing to our professionals so you can enjoy the moment distraction and worry-free!
While we typically enjoy some of the best weather conditions of any dropzone in Colorado, there are rare occasions when factors outside our control may prevent us from getting you in the sky. If weather conditions aren’t looking favorable and we aren’t confident that we’ll be able to operate safely, our team will notify you by 8:00 AM on the morning of your jump to save you the trip and will help you reschedule for another day when conditions have improved. Rest assured, we’re committed to getting you in the sky as soon as possible!
If you’ve already booked but something comes up and you need to reschedule, no problem! Just send us a text or reach out with your name and your preferred new date, and we’ll get you set up ASAP. We do kindly require that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance so we can keep everything running smoothly for you and all our jumpers.
Walk-ins are difficult for us at Rocky Mountain Skydive as we can’t always guarantee an open slot when you arrive. We kindly request that you schedule your jump at least one day in advance to ensure availability. If you haven’t booked and are thinking about coming out day-of, however, give us a call and we’ll see if we can squeeze you in!
The weight of both you and your instructor affects how our parachutes fly and land safely, so we do have a weight limit of 225 pounds to make sure you have the best and safest experience possible.
If you’re over the limit, don’t worry – give us a call! We’d love to chat about your options and see what we can do to help get you in the sky.
The United States Parachute Association (USPA) requires all skydivers to be minimum 18 years old in order to skydive. There is no upper limit, though, and the oldest skydiver to date jumped when he was 106! That said, if you are above 65 years old, we ask that you provide a doctor’s note ensuring you are in good health!
